Oman 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange
Drivetrain Whine

Morning All,

So, my cars due for it's annual 'overhaul' whilst I'm away on leave. One thing that has been bothering me is the amount of transmission whine I'm getting now. Granted the car is 12 years old and has done 120,000 miles so I expect a bit of wear and tear, however, for rear seat passengers the sound is unbearable over longer journeys.

What would you recommend doing? I presume changing the diff oil may help, anything else that may reduce the whine? Drivetrain joints maybe?

TBH I have no clue, I can mess around with electrics but this is out of my league and want to make sure the garage does everything possible within reason... So any thoughts and recommendations would be great.

Thanks

Has it has the gearbox oil changed?

I would start there, but make sure you get the correct oil. Best option is to have it done by ZF themselves Thumbs Up --
