How old is the battery to start you may need a new one and you can either disconnect the battery or put a battery conditioner on it |

You can leave the battery connected as once its charged as long as the charger/conditioner does what it says |

I have a 2005 RRS petrol SC so different to yours and Steve's but I don't get any warning messages when I start the ignition. I get the usual lights come up at the beginning and a message saying "system check" and once that finishes I crank the engine and everything clears.

If you get HDC fault and special systems off, after starting then the battery is near the end of life / or requires charging. |

Thank you both guys for your time , really good to know I keep an eye on the battery as it looks like these two issues are interconnected. |

I used to get the same warnings on every start, new battery, brake switch, bulbs... all the usual suspects replaced to no avail.
