I forgot to mention, it is a private sale, so no warranty supplied. |

Hi,with 90k on the clock if you take it to a LR dealer for a health check & if everything is ok then you will be able to put a 12 month warranty on it.

Thanks. Are you talking about a LR warranty, or any warranty? i.e. Could I not just use Warranty Direct or similar, without a health check?

Hi there, just to give you some perspective, I've had mine since 2010 and covered nearly 90k miles (mainly short journeys at that) In that time the only things that have been replaced are the air suspension compressor at 4 years, the handbrake mechanism, again at 4 years, and wishbone rubbers, which when worn, make the dreaded knocking sound, again at 4 years old. Year four was an expensive year! Since then, I have only replaced the rubbers on the wishbones (this year) with poly bushes, this gives a slightly stiffer ride, but better turn in, and should last longer than rubber bushes. The 3ltr has been a gem, and had no issues.

That’s a high mileage for a four year old car, there are plenty of 2012/2013 models with 50,000+ miles, some lower, a much safer bet all round. Once at 100,000 miles no chance of purchasing a decent warranty, so take care or have it fully checked out first, but if not from a LR dealership, you should get a LR warranty ASAP. Full 12 month enhanced about £1100. John
