Can In Control Apps be retrofitted

I have a 2015MY HSE and do have In control remote and In Control Secure but did not specify In Control apps when I got the car.

Does anyone know if they can be retrofitted and if so what is involved, is it just a software update or does it involve a separate SIM card from that already fitted for the Remote and Secure??

Thanks

Ian

I wouldn't bother. Using it is a dismal experience, clogs the home screen and is a waste of money.

Whoever promoted the idea within JLR was probably some sort of geek who oversold the idea to an uncomprehending product management.

If I could uninstall it, I would. Mark

I only tried it once and wasn't impressed. Do I have to buy the apps too? I looked and the sat nav one is £60! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

And Land Rover says that it cannot be retrofitted anyway. It seems that with each new version of the software there is no capablity to update the previous generations to the latest version, a missed "profit enhancing" opportunity for the dealers and Land Rover as I'm sure that if it were possible there would be a highly unrealistic charge to carry it out! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi Bodsy
Did you ever establish if retrofitting InControl apps is possible. At best, I guess the wiring might be there but would at least require the dedicated USB interface. 2005 RRS First Edition Supercharged

I know that In Control Apps have indeed been retrofitted into a Jag XF. It needed the TIM and AUI modules and the input of a very (VERY) knowledgeable chap who reprogrammed the CCF amongst other things.

Effectively he made an X250 work like an X260.

Get this wrong and you have effectively flatlined your car.
