Trinity Landrover of Hinckley

Apart from the common gripe that no discounts have been available on either car or parts I must say that I have been happy to do business with this dealer.

The great news is that I have been invited to one of their hospitality nights out. I still play rugby & was pleased to be invited to Leicester Tigers v Newcastle Falcons on Friday 14th Oct. Laughing

Even better news, they are personally going to Gaydon to collect my car today and the factory inorder to pick up the V55. GREAT SERVICE, but poor effort from the manufacturer. Only thing left is for DVLA to sort my plate.

I was dissapointed with not receiving freebie mats or a tank of fuel, but hey I got a nice boquet of flowers Embarassed

Joking apart had to nip back up to dealer on Monday afternoon to fix leaking washer fluid resivoir. This was done within seconds of me entering the dealership. WELL DONE

Dont know if it makes any difference, to service but Trinity are family owned and the Dealer Principal Malcolm Wood has been there a very long time.

Sadly in this day an age no where is perfect Confused

..............

....... and I prove my point.

Last week I visited Trinity to show them how the nearside rear numberplate light fitting was damaged/broken & fell out of its housing each time I shut the tailgate/boot! They acknowledged the fault but could'nt fix there and then as needed to order / part. So my car was booked in for 1.30 lunchtime today. Being local , I nipped up at lunch and handed over the keys 1.20pm ... sat around for a while , only to be handed the keys back at 1.45 and told had got the wrong part so coul'nt repair/replace broken fitting. I could not believe it Shocked Shocked Shocked

Something as simple as this....... Sad

What a waste of my time Evil or Very Mad ....

Isn't it stupid and irritating that these days you constantly feel someting will not get done correctly unless you do it yourself....

How hard can it be to order the correct part...I really despair sometimes. L319 D4 HSE

UPDATE

Having just spoke with service reception 3.50pm they tell me they are still waiting for the part and all they can do is chase it up on Monday ( whats wrong with chasing it up now ) !

Still no word on the carpet mats that were ordered ( and paid for )at the same time as the vehicle itself.

So to recap I am without :-

1. correct rear ( left ) numberplate illumination light

2. set of carpet mats

3. squeak free front wipers

These have all been evident from day 1 when I picked the car up on 16/9/2005

MY advice?

Go to another dealer, there's a few locally to choose from:

Sturgess Leicester
Stratstone Nottingham
Marshall Melton Mowbray

plus many more over the other side of leicester (west towards brum)

Get your money back on things you've paid for and vote with your feet. That's what I'd be doing, making sure they knew I was so annoyed I was going elsewhere from now on. L319 D4 HSE

All sorted - but with my efforts

Apologies from dealer re the mats they had been in for some time??????

Got fed up waiting for service for spare part ( warranty ) for numberplate illumination so fixed myself - bought the part needed direct from spares along with a new wiper blade ( which has eradicated the squeak ).

Fitted the supercharged sill/plates from Rob Lane ( replacing outer LR ones )

All the above done so now HAPPY Very Happy

for now anyway Wink

Is that Atacama or Vienna Green, it's hard to tell - they don't do D3 in Giverny, only FFRR, RRS and Freelander. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Just had a play on the LR Build your own D3 and it doesn't look green enogh for Vienna so it could well be Atacama, it looks nice in it................. but why are LR still not making any of the cars in bright and bold colours - my last FFRR was a brilliant sort of Kingfisher Blue called Monte Carlo and it was quite popular.

Purple! Man, I'd love a car in that colour - somewhere 'twixt a ripe aubergine and the worst bruise you've ever had. Would probably need a (highly-illegal) lead-based paint to do it justice.
