And it is an aftermarket warranty, basically an insurance product, just like Warranty Direct. So it DOES have exclusions, which the OE warranty does not (apart from consumables that is).

It costs the same whether you buy it through the dealer or direct from LR warranty company so there should be no markup.

The cost of the warranties go up as the car gets older; it is cheaper to put one on a car that is 360 days old than it is on one at 370 days old (plus there will also be the pre-warranty check required which is £100-£200)!

One thing to remember about the extended warranty is that you can use it at non-LR garages. That way you can avoid the dealer network and use a decent indie. Obviously the manufacturer's warranty requires a visit to a LR dealership. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I previously had an XC90 for which I paid £650 for a full manufacturers 3 year extended warranty bought when the car was 4 years old with about 40k on the clock. That price was not per annum but for the whole 3 years. I never claimed on it!! Why cannot Land Rover build a car that has that same inherent build quality and show the confidence in their product by a sensible extended warranty cost?

Why can't any of the European manufacturers offer the 5-7 year warranties that the Japanese and Koreans offer?! |

Don't worry Jim, those XC90s look very nice in the rear view mirror of a L494. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I'm considering these 2. Each has different cover and exclusions, but pricing similar. Warranty Direct don't cover suspension, which I find worrying. Anybody have experience of dealing with either of them? Merc C220 estate Sport AMG Merc C220 estate Sport AMG 125 year edition Alfa GT Rover 76 V6 |
