I know xactly how you feel,, someone damaged the side of my wife's car while it was outside our house and never said a word, cost me 400 to get it put right. Bad enough getting a ding accidently but when people don't have the balls to hold their hands up makes it worse. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Know how you feel, but didn't vent on here until now! Someone very kindly hit my M5 and snapped the drivers mirror off, dented and scraped the drivers wing and door. Happened between the hours of 1700-0800 and I saw the damage when I went to use it that morning. The worst bit was because the car had been parked for 2 days and it had been frosty the dash cam picked up all! Now had to claim on my own insurance and it's in for repairs. I can accept that accidents happen if people would have the balls to admit that they hit it! 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black 2013 SDV6 HSE Black Edition- Orkney Grey with Ebony & Ivory. As I've got side steps I put mine in off-road mode when I'm in car parks. Makes it more likely that they will open there door and hit the step rather than bash my door.

i know how you feel, returned back to find a scratch on my car door, looks like a door has rested against it and dropped down when they got it, too deep to polish out

I have magnetic body protectors to 'stick on' steel doors, but they are obviously no good on an RRS. Instead, I've ordered mine with the rubbing strip - does anyone know if these are any good? I was surprised to find out that they get sprayed body colour as I would have thought that would make any damage show up more if the paint is knocked off. I've also got deployable side steps, which I understand can be over-ridden to be out all the time. Are these high enough to be effective against normal height car doors? (I am paranoid about door 'dings'!!) |
