Hi all - I am brand new to this forum. I have a RRS 3.0 diesel on order and due for delivery March 17. My wife and I opted to stick with the standard 5 seats despit having a growing family (2 young boys) as having test driven the Q7 we were very disappointed with the loss in boot height with the 7 seat set up. However over xmas we have been talking and see the benefit of adding the option to my curent order before the build slot comes up. Does anyone know if the same thing would happen to the RRS if I add this option on and I lose a huge chunk of the boot height? Any advice gratefully recieved to help me avoid another trip to the dealership. Many Thanks all.

I've got a 7 seater & I wouldn't want to be sitting in the seats unless you are dwarf.i didn't buy the car new & spec the 7 seater as their is only 3 of us but I don't think it affects the boot space as the seats fold down into the spare wheel well.

I am sure there are plenty of used RRS with the option of the 3rd row seats that dealers have. Why not ask your dealer if they have one that you can take a look at or have a search on LRs website for any used ones close to you and just take a look. Everybody has their own requirements for space but only you know how much space you need.

I have a MY16.5 with the 7 seats. We had to wait 4 months from order to delivery as dealers in Aust do not order floor stock with 7 seats. As far as I can tell the only difference is that you lose the spare wheel as the seats uses up part of the space. Cameron

Thanks for all your help guys. Went to the dealership and had a look today. Does anyone know if the third row of seats will take a baby seat/booster or not?
