i have just purchased a 2011 range rover sport 50,000 miles, i previously owned a freelander 2
i normally have my servicing done at an independent garage.
land rover dealership have given me a 2 year warranty with the car and are now offering me a 3 year service plan at a cost of £1,469 over the 3 years
please could you tell me should i take this offer up .

I think that's not a bad price for 3 services at a main dealer. Does it include parts and oils?

I paid £499 for 5 year service plan on the DS - yesterday I had the adblue top up free (normally £75) and saw first service on board was around £450 and second service was around £550 - glad I got the service plan

Even better I've paid for 5 years what I paid annually for RRS  Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

That sounds like a good idea. Get a 2 year plan to cover the warranty period. Assuming its good value

that plan will only cover fluids and small items what about brake pads etc etc or are they saying they are wear items

Yes - the 5 year service plan is misleading - you only get 2 as they're every 2 years but you get adblue for 5 years

the plan only covers the basics any thing else that shows itself will be under warranty or wear and tear in which i pay etc

the plan is for a 96,000 , 112,000 and 128,000 miles or each 12 months which ever comes first

so it will be for 3 x services
