Recall going wrong

Car booked in to have the recall today - couple of hours into to it they find a bolt they can't get off (under the turbo) despite WD40 still won't come off, dealer is concerned it may snap so car is rebuilt & booked in for another day. Proviso is that it may be a body off job!! - good job Land Rover are picking up the bill😀😀

They obviously haven't done enough of these by the sounds of things. Not picking, but far better things than WD40 for loosening up. Just glad you can still use your car until they decide how to proceed and cost. LR pay a set fee for doing this job, so they sound as if they will be liable to much of repair possibly? Question John

What's the recall for? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Crankshaft sensor - only on a fairly small number of 3.0 diesels (mines a MY 2012)

You should receive notification letter if your car is affected.
There is a thread running on this, copy of notice below. Reason for recall is car could cut out when running or not start.

Ian,

If the above is the correct notice then it does not apply to your vehicle as this is for model years 2012 - 2013. Yours is 2011, isn't is?

Jock, The notice is a real copy of the official LR recall. Thumbs Up

Ian, check your VIN number, if part of listed ones then contact an official LR dealership for booking in for repair. Smile
If not listed, one less thing for you to worry about. Whistle John

Got my RRS back this evening after 3 days to complete the sensor recall. Lookers Park Royal gave as their excuse that there was the additional recall (tow bar) to complete.

Strange as my car isn't fitted with a tow bar. RRS (MY13) Santorini Black SDV6 HSE luxuary

OK they so need to check.
