Noticed today that around the perimeter of the centre caps of my 21" wheels after 8k miles, 1 yr old AB, the lacquer is starting to flake off. Didn't occur on the 22" wheels of my previous 2013 L494. The flaking is quite equal on all the wheels.
I know it is a regular occurrence on Hyundai vehicles - a neighbour of mine has had all his wheels replaced under warranty after I told him to push for this. The Hyundai dealer refused initially to do this until I provided evidence that this was a common occurrence.
I think the reason for lacquer flaking around the wheel centres is due to centrifugal force , whereby water spins at greater speed. But I am surprised to see this on a £80k vehicle. Next time I am in the vicinity of the local dealer , I will ask for this to be addressed.
