My Supercharged is playing up! Whilst towing my caravan last weekend , I travelled some 100 miles with not a hint of trouble ! However when I arrived on site and unhitched, the car stalled on me twice whilst moving it to the caravan side.Thought no more about it, and didn't use it until my journey home some two days later. It seemed to be sputtering a little and again stalled. I set off on my trek home and there seemed to be a miss fire , which would clear and then you would feel an hesitation through the car as though it was going to stall, but it didn't. The 'low coolant' warning came on a couple of times but then went off again, I had checked the water prior to leaving so knew that was ok. As mentioned the car seem to be ok one minute and then just felt that it had died but hadn't, I on occasions put it in 'command shift' to enable me to clear or rev through the misfire and that seemed to work. I made it home finally but in the last few miles the orange ' brake' light came on and stayed on. I also noted black 'soot' marks on th e front of the caravan from each tail pipe. I plugged in my icarsoft reader and it came up with 5 faults P0101 mass air flow/circuit range performance, P0172 system too rich (bank 1), P0175 system too rich (bank 2),p0420 cat system below threshold bank 1,P0430 cat system efficiency below threshold bank2. I cleared the dtc's a day it seemed to be ok and revved freely. The following morning on way to work 7 miles it still felt not right , so again plugged in the icardoft reader and this time came up with P0116 engine coolant temperature. A good mechanic friend thought that this might have been the reason for the bad journey home ie sending out the wrong signals! I had changed the coolant temperature switch a few months earlier , but had kept the old one so swooped them over whilst I obtained yet another new one which I fitted yesterday. The car had run OK to and from work with no issues all week no dtc's. Today had to drive 60 miles again ,no caravan, everything seemed fine it ran smooth no hiccups at all however when I got to my destination the car cut out, it restarted and I seemed to be able to clear whatever by revving it up. However after sitting for 20 min it started and cut out immediately ! Which it did quite a few times it wouldn't give me the chance to even rev it up before cutting out! I had my icardoft with me plugged it in and no dtc's were logged! After sitting there a few more minutes I remembered that I had the old coolant temp sensor with me so stopped it over and voila it started and allowed me to drive home with just the occasional slightly felt hesitation. Any ideas ? Thanks and sorry for going on so long.
