2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Coasting noise / vibration

Hi all,

I have started to get a noise when coasting, for instance doing 70 on motorway and then letting off the pedal instead of a smooth roll it sounds like a wheel bearing but that is usually noticed when turning a particular direction and from one side.

Any ideas before I hit the garage?

Does the noise sound similar to a flat tyre - sort of a 'who wup wup'. When mine started doing that it turned out to be the front differential. Very noticeable when on the over run coming off a motorway onto the off ramp.

Not a cheap fix if you buy official LR rebuilt unit but I believe a few good specialists can rebuild the diff for less. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
