Suspension reading - front n/s is way out

Hello guys,

So I've searched and searched but can't seem to work out this issue.

I've taken the EASTool and checked the heights, they match what I get taking a tape measure to the side of the car so the readings are: L F: 23 R F: 14 L R: 11 R R: 14

When I look at the suspension on the screen all red/orange blocks are around the same level but clearly the left front is too high and I can see it. When I try to put the car into access I get the extended mode error and it's clearly to do with the front left sensor.

As it seems to be reading correctly re the height the EASTool reads but the screen thinks it's the same height as the other sides so is it possibly a dodgy sensor or something else? Possibly just needing re-calibrated on a proper diagnostics machine? I'm going to take it to the local Indy who renewed the whole system a couple of years ago to have a look or see if discomikey is in the area at any point to have a look.

Cheers,

Angie

you need to go through the eas calibration process and that will most likely fix your problem. Bodsys Brake Bible

Just to add, that the heights you need to measure are from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch that is directly above the centre of the wheel.
What heights are they? Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks bodsy, the values from the middle of the wheel to the bottom of the wheels arch

Front left: 480 Front right: 435

Rear left: 450 Rear right: 450

I did try the calibiration but I possibly need to re adjust what I'm doing as the left block just goes way down on the screen

ignore what it looks like on the screen and follow exactly the eas calibration process. this involves measureing the heights, looking at the calibration values, looking at the current calibration figues and doing a bit of maths. Have you seen the calibration sheet? Designed to calibrate left to right or right to left. You then have to lift the front or rear (or drop) to get the front and rear at the right height.
I've not double checked the RRS heights, but on a Disco3, it's 485mm at the rear and 465 at the front. so some of your figures are quite a bit out. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've got the calibration sheet here so I'll work with that tonight. I have a sneaky suspicion that someone possibly the previous owner changed the heights.

I can see the difference on the front left versus the right straight off just looking at the car. But I'll get my figures worked out. Ideally want to get that sorted and then I can focus on the extended mode.........if that still happens.

Thanks again bodsy Thumbs Up

unless it's a physical fault, then the calibration and ride height adjustment will stop the car going into extended mode.

With those ride heights, its probably a bit jittery on the road as well I suspect. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've not really driven it since I brought it home but it could do with feeling a bit more solid. It didn't feel too bad driving the M6/M74 home.

I need to take an extended lunch tomorrow so if the weathers good I'll try again but maybe do it in small increments to ensure it adjusts correctly.

dont do it in increments, the point of the calibration is to calibrate the left side to the right (or vice-versa). Once thats done, you re-measure and then lift or drop the front and rear by whatever the measured values are -465 or -485 Thumbs Up

needsto be done as one process really. Should take about 1/2 hour or so. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Eventually got round to doing the calibration properly today. Now both n/s and o/s are calibrated and front and rear heights have been sorted.

And just after fitting the side steps at the weekend I get the access height to work Laughing

Thank you Bodsy for your advice of doing it as one process.
