Antifreeze low

Hi guys,
It's been a while since my last post - but here I am (unfortunately)

Few weeks back I had the "low coolant level" message on a couple times. But every time it disappeared within 15 secs. So I paid no attention to it... I know.

Then, I didn't use the car for about 2-3 weeks. Just last Friday I used the car again, but I noticed a very strange squirming noise coming from the engine, and again - the message pop up. So I checked the coolant level - which was extremely low and I have no idea why would the message disappear within seconds if coolants level was so low. Literally, 2 inches. So I went to LR dealership, got myself some coolant, went back home and topped up the liquid. I took the car for a drive, the noise was stilll there. And low coolant level message popped up again obviously, the tank is leaking.

Now, whilst parking outside the cinema tonight, which is 1 mile away, I noticed something was wrong with the steering. It felt as if one of the wheels was punctured. Ie slightly diddicult to turn the steering wheel, especially when parking. When I finally arrived home whilst parking - turning the steering wheel became very difficult. My oh my... Is the engine about to blow? Please share. Crying or Very sad Vadim A.

How is power steering fluid level ?

After filling coolant and driving is level low again ? If so , you need to pressure test for leak and fix that first before driving too much more. Not sure which engine you have but on the 4.4l there is plastic "tee" under the engine cover and on top of the engine which is prone to fail and leak .... Look around there also for signs of coolant ...

Thank you. I have 2010 V8 SC - not a single problem with the car up until now. I didn't check the levels today, as it was already dark. Will do tomorrow. Vadim A.

The noise is probably coming from your power steering pump, if the fluid is low the pump will scream especially on hard lock.
Check there is no fluids sitting on your drive or garage. Top up power steering fluid, turn the steering hard in both directions a few times, this will help remove any air in the system and check level again.
It is best to do this with both front wheels of the ground- if you have two jacks or axle stands.
Don't drive the car if it is still screaming on full steering lock or you will damage the power steering pump. Lot of Landcruisers now sold
