Brake switch adjustment

Recently my wife was following me, as I was drive the sport, and after we had arrived, she asked me if I was riding the brakes, as after every junction, the brake lights would remain on for some time after I set off, as in "minutes".

So on my next trip, I started pulling up on the brake pedal after using it, and sometimes I could hear the faint click of what I assume to be the brake switch.

I've just had a look at the pedal and switch, and expected to find some way of adjusting it, but couldn't see any way to do it, short of bending the bracket. Is there anyway to adjust it so that it makes proper contact with the pedal ?

Dont go to a stealer,it will cost you around £100 supply and fit. The switch cost £20 Just a case of clip new switch in place and plug in itisme

Don't release it before fitting and don't press the brake pedal when fitting it. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Might be worth checking that the brake pedal pivot is not stiff or partially seized whilst you are under there?

The manual has a section on checking free play on the brake switch but it involves a dial gauge which most of us don't have.

Few tips on fitting the new switch:

Cheers Paddi. Thumbs Up I did search for a post like that, before posting the question, but your post didn't come up in the results. I love the LR "standard" way of rotating the switch clockwise to undo it Rolling Eyes
