Great, amazing soil colour. Any word as to how vulnerable the wheels are when off-roading? Mark

Scorpion ATRs are 275/55/20 and absolutely no problem. Had to adjust pressures to the conditions. Ran 27/30psi on dirt and rocky roads and as low 22/25psi on the sand. Sidewalls are quite stiff..We were worried about tyre damage before the trip. Carried 2 spares and didn't need them.

Yes UHF aerial between spotlights and yes he did miss the tree on his left. But later in the trip we had to pass through 40km of narrow track with brittle bushes either side. Luckily he had the sides of the car treated with protective film! RRS P460e

Hi rangiejools, I am a retiree based in Adelaide, I have time to travel about the outback for several months each year. I am soon to replace my 2009 TDV8 for a new 2016 Australian Spec SDV8 Dynamic, and looking for some more durable tyres than the OEM Verdis. I currently have General Grabber AT 255 55 R19 tyres on my TDV8, with no complaints, and my speedometer vs a GPS is accurate. Thanks for the positive info on the 275/55 R20 Scorpion ATRs to both vehicles. I have some questions for you. As they are taller than the original tyres, have you had any rubbing on the chassis or body? Do you know if there is a speedometer error with those 275/55 R20s? What pressures would you recommend for on road touring at up to 110Kph? Cheers |
