Saw a toureg (V10 I hasten to add) parked in Tesco today, really like the idea... They raised the tailgate glass as you can in the rangie, but had a metal dog guard behind so pooches had lots of fresh air.... Whilst I would never condone leaving dogs in a car on any sunny day, today with overcast this was a brilliant idea.... Anyone else done anything similar or got one??

Yes, I do that with mine, I have a bog standard dog cage (medium sized one for a cocker) that I tie in with the rings in the boot. When we take him to walk in the local NT park, we usually have a coffee before coming home, so pop him in the cage, disable the internal alarm sensors and lock the doors. As the cage takes up most of the boot, it is pretty secure, but always take any valuables out anyway.
