About to order a V8 Tdi.....but what options?

Went to my LR yesterday to order a V8 Tdi (Jan delivery) to replace my current V6.

Don’t want a sunroof or video (never used the current one) and was surprised to learn that the only extras are Logic7 and privacy glass. 20” Wheels are standard. So apart from daft stuff like sills..........is it really totally spec’d?

What have I missed, that I really should get?

Hi Rad.

I'm about to place an order somewhere too so it would be very helpful to see what options other "to-be" owners have added as well.

Slightly off topic but Harry Enfield went to my old school though not when I was there. Enfield modelled one of his characters on my old House Master who also taught History. He was a crazy monk who would re create the charge of the Light Brigade in the classroom. I loved history! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Here's mine so far:

TDV8 HSE
Stornoway Grey
Ivory leather with Rhodium trip

And that's it!!!

Not sure about sunroof... does anyone ever order these? Good for resale? Also, looking at options spreadsheet, it seems that you "Stormer Alloys" aren't available... you do get 9-spoke 20" one's but not the same one's as the supercharged beast. Can anyone clarify? Most of us are reptiles... only the enlightened few become human beings.

One problem I've had with my currect RRS is that Logic7 has never worked. They've changed the amp, the wiring......re-done the software I don't know how many times and finally gave up. They even admitted in writing that there was nothing further can be done...its just a bad one.

I've suggested that as I am down £1k, for something that has never worked, they credit my new car so that the premium system is installed f.o.c.

Watch this space.......or even watch Luton play football, whichever you consider less painfull!

Having just spoken to Kam100 and especially after reading Rad's post, I won't bother with the Premium ICE upgrade after all.

Next question though is the colour....

torn between Stornoway Grey/Ivory and Chawton White/Ivory... bearing in mind that I'll be selling the vehicle after 8-10 months or so... depending when new M3 arrives!! Cool

Any strong colour suggestions? Most of us are reptiles... only the enlightened few become human beings.

White certainly looks nice but may not be so good for resale, grey and the ever trusty black or silver have to be the best on that front.

I personally think that Hybid TV is a must have for long term resale. Five years ago very few cars have Sat Nav - now its a must... same will happen with TV in five years... RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

I have the premium ICE and I think it is very good. I swapped my RRS for the day when I was having the stone protection done with an RRS that didn't have the premium. I really missed it and the owner of the other RRS wished he had ordered his with the premium when he heard mine.

So I think you should trust your own ears as to what is best. Plus you won't get the connection for an iPod if you don't have it. Then having realised you made a mistake it can't be retrofitted afterwards. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

I wouldn't buy a car on the strengths of whether or not it had an ipod socket ........ I don't think the integration of aux input in the RRS is executed very well at all !

Best just burn loads of MP3 tracks onto CD's .......... much better Confused
