New tyres

Having new tyres fitted tomorrow but today when the was jacked up when lowered the suspension said it too high i lowered it and it sorted itself out, is there anything i should do tomorrow before getting the car jacked up again

Both times I've had new tyres fitted the place I use have put the hazard lights on and opened the hatchback fully....

They tell me "that's what you do with the RRS ..." ?? Confused - Mine is also 06MY Carl

...I thought it was strange too but saw it being done and no problem at all afterwards...I think I've read it elsewhere too. Many others on here with far more knowledge than me though so maybe someone else will give an opinion....... Carl

I was told to put it into Access Mode by City Tyres. Tried both normal and Access and both were OK.

Just read the manuel and that says to put it in off road height , this gets more confusing

I think the idea behind putting it in off road height is that you have less work to do when jacking it up at the side of the road. When using a trolley jack in a garage it's probably less of a problem. You'll probably need to cycle the suspension once and it'll be happy enough. I.e. make one height change using the switch so that it comes out of extended mode (which is often what it sets itself to when jacked up). The air suspension system is designed to recognise a possible jacking situation and inhibits any height changes until the switch is pressed (or the vehicle is driven over 2mph for a period of 45s)

Bear in mind that the suspension system is designed to try to keep the tyres in contact with the ground for as long as possible - that's why its so good off road. It's long travel suspension (total of 10in at the front, 12in at the rear) so you take all the help you can get when it comes to jacking it up with the LR-supplied emergency jack! Hence selecting off road height. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
