Have you told them to look at their website? I assume it's on their configurator?

So assuming you've read the articles in Auto Express / Top Gear / Autocar / LRO, how many of you prospective owners are likely to do that level of off-roading or fancy a visit to the Ring? Very Happy

I'm looking forward to both of those. I'm happy to take my Evoque off-road, the last time down a muddy track near Cold Aston in Gloucestershire, signed "Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles" and almost got stuck. Also, I go walking near Guiting Power where there are a couple of fords with quite steep approach angles; the Evoque handles them fine so the SVR should be a winner.

As for the Nurburgring, I've driven on it in Porsche 911s with safety always the priority but my current insurance specifically excludes the ring from cover even though in Germany, it is classed as a toll-road. One problem is that if you do have a spill, you have to pay for any damage and track downtime while they take you off the road. Don't know how much that costs at the ring but at Spa Francorchamps, it's €250 a minute so I'd need to find cover.

An alternative is to attend track days such as at Oulton Park, Goodwood and Castle Combe. The normal role of a Range Rover is to turn up towing the car rather than go on the track itself. I think most Caterham drivers would be slightly cowered by the view of an SVR in their mirror.

Also, wondering whether the SVR will pass the noise regs... Mark

It would be fun to drive up to a track on the roughest, muddiest route possible towing my race car, unhitch and then race the SVR. I haven't driven the ring or Spa, although had a great weekend driving there and back last year with friends. Was going to do the 6 hours the year before but other things got in the way.

With the Sport SVR, the FF LWB that has been spotted running around with the SVR underpinnings, and the rumours of the Evoque SVR maybe JLR should establish a new form of Extreme Motorsport - a combination of the Paris Dakkar and Touring Cars?

And yes, I doubt the SVR would meet Goodwood's noise restrictions. A Prius has difficulties. A friend of mine, in an unmodified car, who was bared from a track day there spent the rest of the day driving around the villages and around the outside of the circuit.
