intermittent petrol leak

[iHi
i recently purchased a 06 rrs 4.2 supercharged with bumper and bonnet damage it still drove fine.been moving it about for a week or two with no problems anyway before i started to do any work on the bonnet, bumper i removed the battery when i refitted the battery back on and turned the ignition on theres a reaily strong smell of petrol.turned the ignition off but could not find any leaks nothing on the floor left it for a couple of hours why the battery was charging in the garage put battery back on and it fired 1st time no smell of petrol let it run for 10min turned it off disconected battery.two days later i have a bit of spare time so connect battery up turn ignition on and theres a strong smell of petrol and this time its dripping on the floor below the drivers seat and just behind the drive shaft thing is if a pipe leaks it leaks it doesnt just stop so is it somthing to do with me disconnecting the battery[/i]

They do like petrol- a friend had all his petrol garden tools ruined by mice/rats chewing the priming pump detents.

They don't seem to care. It is the plastic that attracts them. the more recent tanks use a different type so I'm told.

Australia

They surely don't discriminate

Bloody rodents had the wiring in my 09 M3, shortly followed by a fridge nearby, none of which were diesel powered
