To RRs or not to RRS that is the question

Hi, I have always admired the RRS and am thinking of taking the plunge and buying a 2006 or 2007 diesel, is there any advice you can give me , or is there anything to be avoided in choosing one?
thanks

hi mate. i was told that if its doing a lot of miles get the diesel, but if short journeys and under 5k a year get the petrol.
Also be prepared to spend money on it.
be aware petrol does drink a lot, and when i say a lot its unbelievable amounts of the stuff.

There will be others along with useful advice but use the search at the top. you can find out loads from this forum.

Hello Jimmy

I have a 2007 2.7 RR Sport and have had it for 4 years now. Now done 89 thousand miles and I Love it! OK Road tax a bit high but worth it in my book. The car does everything that I ask of it and tows a caravan on regular occasions. I have not had any issues with the car other than faulty tailgate switch throwing up a transmission fault, which took the local RR dealer 3 goes to find. A suspension fault ( cured with a new brake light switch - thank you RRsport forum. 20 minute DIY job) new brake discs and pads all round and a new alternator was required 1 year ago, again a DIY job, although these are items that will be required on any vehicle of this age. I think that I now need to service the suspension compressor and it will need a cam and fuel pump belt replacement soon.

As long as you get one that has been looked after it should be ok.

Dive in. Good hunting.

Bloody hell, that's amazing. That's about 28 mpg. I'm averaging about 12. Big Cry
