Can I have your opinions on this SDV6 HSE

I am quite taken with this car at Ripon Land Rover.

http://www.ripon.landrover.co.uk/Approved-...or?id=8524

Whilst colour is not my first choice (Siberian Silver), it does look good. Appealing to me is that this is a SDV6 with the 8 speed gearbox, it looks well specced and has a full LR Hsitory and is still just inside LR manufacturers 3 year warranty. The finance figures are absolutely spot on and, I think, very competitive (7% APR). The mileage is a little concerning, but should I be worried?? My wife and I will do c6000 miles a year I think. The price looks good and this must be one of the cheapest SDV6 in the LR network.

I have asked for a part ex price on my X5, this will be crucial I think. I have also asked for the price of an additional LR warranty - to make it two years from November 2014, and the cost of putting side steps on.

If it all stacks up, I might be going to Ripon tomorrow morning!

Had mine for just over 18 months, been pretty trouble free except for a hydraulic problem which was sorted under warranty very quickly.
Only negative would be can be a bit slow to pull away at a junction, having said that something you get used to and if a busy junction... sport mode and paddles Very Happy

Ripon LR are a decent garage to deal with, I bought mine there.
By the way I got them to throw in the steps as part of the deal at no extra cost Wink
And don't accept the first valuation on your X5. They offered me 4k less than I wanted on my px but this was soon absorbed by a reduction in the screen price of the sport, cost to change is all that matters.

Useful thanks.

Their part ex price on my X5 is £1250 below the best I have been offered elsewhere against an RRS. He said that there is no scope for a reduction on the RRS screen price. Just waiting to hear back regarding the side steps and warranty. If the steps can be added to the deal as a sweetener, we are probably there. I suspect I would need to do that face to face though.

I think that is a good price from a main dealer, i know you said Siberian silver isn't your first choice in colour, but it does look good colour coded. Might help sway your decision. Wink
This was Siberian Fox's old sport. Thumbs Up

I guess colour coded means the black plastic sill trims painted body colour? I think that side steps should do the trick for me!/

IMHO it looks pretty smart as it is. I prefer the multi spoke alloys, and I'm not convinced colour coordination is going to make it look even better! I'd hang out for the 2 yr extended warranty, ensure tyres have got at least 6mm tread, and it doesn't need a service for at least 10k, and then you'll be sorted for 2 years.

What is the service interval? Is it straight annual servicing or is it conditioned and mileage based ? I am sure he said the car has just been serviced and when he went around the car whilst i was on the phone it has Continental tyres all round with lots of tread!

Service intervals are, every 12 months from new, or every 16000 miles. Whichever comes first.

Yes ...just realised that as well! I've just had my RRS 2 serviced at 11.2 months, with 10k mileage. 3 weeks ago the display said service due in 1600 miles. I then did 200 miles in 2 weeks, and then the display changed to service due in 600 miles!

I'd be tempted to wait. If you can find the colour she likes then she'll fall in love with it. That makes ownership all the more easy... Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi

I agree, wait until you find the right colour/ combination for you. If you buy now then there is no doubt that next week or so, you will see a car in the colour combination you want and think " I should have waited" Big Cry
It took me 3 months to find a Stornaway Grey RRS with an Almond Interior at the price and condition I wanted. Every time I drive it I am so glad I waited to get what I actually wanted. Very Happy

There are plenty of cars out there and cars are coming up for sale all the time
