2006 Range Rover Sport goes in crash mode and won't start

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this issue… I bought a Range Rover Sport 2.7TDV6 about a month ago and in the last few day’s I’ve started having some sort of electrical fault. While I was driving the doors unlocked, the interior lights came on and the hazard lights came on as well but I only found out that my hazards where on when other drivers started telling me that my hazards where on because it wasn’t flashing on the dash or making the indicator noise. So I pulled over to turn the car off in the hope that it will clear itself once powered back on but I couldn’t get it to start up again (It wasn't even trying to turn over). I got the following messages on the dash:

• Suspension fault vehicle lean when cornering
• Parkbrake fault

It started up again after 15 minutes but it did the same thing again after a few minutes.

The car drives fine and doesn’t lose any power.

I’ve taken it to a Land Rover specialist but even they’re struggling to know what it is. They’ve told me that the car goes into ‘Crash mode’ because the car thinks it’s had an accident and this can be caused by a loose connection or a faulty module. The battery has been changed by Land Rover recently. They’ve checked all the fuses and looked for traces of water on the electrics. They've still got the car but they're not sure what it could be.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Its not "crash mode", its a CAN BUS issue

Can take a long time to track down, especially if it is an intermittent fault
