suspension noise

For a couple of weeks now when I've been driving over small bumps or holes in the road it sounds like
a hollow rattling noise coming from both sides of the front suspension ???

Is it me being over worried or is it normal I cant think if its done it since I got it or not.

Has any body else had this, its still under warranty till August so I can take it back to the dealer.

hi ,i would imagine lower arm bushes i have had to have them done on every sport iv owned, bit of a job ,or if its a very light ,knock/rattle it could be just drop links they are very cheap and easy to do,not sure if you would get them under warranty Thumbs Up silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone

Hi,

Shame there's no audio on here as I'd be interested to hear this 'knocking' noise people talk about.

All vehicles will make some kind of 'noise' when going over bumps, pot holes etc

If someone could clarify what the noise sounds like, where it comes from, can you feel it though the steering column etc that is attributed to this suspension/arm issue, Id be grateful.

Many thanks,
Simon
PS: I've read a couple of the threads on it, but still don't quite understand what it sounds like

Knocking/rattling over poor surfaces is usually anti-roll bar bushes.

Check this first as it is far less expensive than replacing the lower arms which usually knock when you brake sharply from low speed.

If you can handle a spanner then changing the anti-roll bar bushes for the later more beefy type along with the re-designed bracket holding them on is a fiddly but possible DIY job. There are guides with pictures on the Disco 3 site Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I notice on cold mornings that going over pot holes bumps etc, you can hear a noise but when the temperature increases the noise goes away.
I took this as some rubber bushes somwhere are a bit stiff in the morning. 3.0 HSE RRS Stornaway (current)

I don't feel any vibration when I hear mine and like Simon I just wondering if im listening out for a Knocking noise to much.

It don't seem to hear it as much on normal roads just a back road round where I live.
