I can't for the love of money remember where I put my documents or if they were nicked when the car was in a garage as I haven't noticed them missing in over 12 months.

Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Bad news

I had a similar problem as the previous owner 'lost' the service book. Land Rover will only supply new service books (not marked 'replacement') to their dealers so you can get your local dealer to order one for you. Alternatively new ones do come up for sale on eBay occasionally (where I found one) - in fact it was a complete pack with service book, leather binder and everything.

There's no central database of service records so your only hope is to personally visit the garages that serviced your car if you can remember and ask them to stamp the book (they all keep their own database of cars they have serviced so can check for you). Some won't do it claiming it breaches the Data Protection Act which is rubbish.

Owners can buy a new handbook from LR but make sure you get the correct edition for your model year by looking on Topix website, putting in your model and year and looking at the part number near the front of the handbook pdf that comes up.

Theft of service books is a real problem usually with cars like the RRS that are frequently stolen. I had one stolen once at a Ford dealership when having my hot ford serviced. Never let the book out of your sight in future - just hand it to the service manager and make him stamp it in front of you and hand it straight back.  2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
