2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Sumatra Black
Big Fuelling Issue

My Car is suffering from dropping into limp mode randomly when accelerating hard

Its in the garage at the moment and they are struggling to find the fault having already spent money to get the high pressure pump and in tank pump changed

Fuel lines have been checked ecu check injectors and various other things so far

Its still throwing up a fuel deviation fault code

Has anyone ever had this issue as so far my bill must be in excess of £3000

Any help appreciated as its a real mystery fault and at the moment range rover technical are getting involved to try and locate it

Its been in the garage a week already so I really need my car back

Mine did exactly the same a couple of months ago, ended up being the fuel filter, it still took them nearly a week though to find it. I would say this is definatley what is wrong with yours.
Hope you get it sorted. Thumbs Up Current Volvo XC90 R Design T8

Hi .... I'd be very interested in the outcome of this as my 07 TDV6 is doing much the same (see recent post in Technical issues titled Faults at Speed) so far they've done injectors and filter but still not sorted, my biggest worry is that when the injectors were done they didn't do the filter so they could be dirty again !
Let me know how you fair
Cheers

Sounds like a very similar issue, I have had both fuel pumps replaced so far, fuel filter, injectors checked and they are fine, ecu checked, electricals checked and still no fault found.

I have the range rover electrician down today to hook up there own laptop and software to my car and to test drive it to create the fault and analyse the data.

Its driving me crazy at the moment, as well as having a huge bill to come for basically nothing at the moment.

I think this will unfortunately be my first and last RRS.

I feel your pain ££££££££ , Mine has been in 3 times with this now and were none the wiser ! ... Add to that for the NCT (MOT in Ireland) I had to buy 2 tyres , then it failed on a suspension imbalance so I had to buy 2 rear suspension units which set me back €1000 fitted and now this fuel fault .... If that's what it is ? Like yourself my patience and wallet are getting thin !

Ok a further update if anyone has any clues, it seems after further tests and diags by a top range rover electronics guru, the fuel issue seems to be happening only when the car is under load.

The car is fine on a ramp running but when driving under normal conditions the fuel pressure seems to drop.

Anyone any ideas?

Have they checked the vent is clear for the fuel tank so it can breath and not cause a vacuum while your under load.
