Just had a call from the dealer to say that across the new Sport range the aux heater is an optional extra! Unless this is ordered at £1000, then you can't have timed climate manual or remote. I'm a bit amazed..esp as on Discos aux heating is standard ....even had it on my first 54 plate Disco!
So, even on the Autobiography the aux heater is not there. They've checked the stock of new RRSs waiting to go out and they're all the same.
Blimey.

Yeah, timed park heater has been an option, but in reality, the aux heater is ther (unless a dealer can confirm it's not!) but the timed parking heater is an option.

Thanks for the info Bodsy...I've asked the dealer to check with LR to see if these are pre fitted but not enabled. I'll have a look around in the morning too see if I can spot one! On the old RRS the webasto was at the front passenger side...but on cursory inspection it doesn't look as this is the same on this model.

Well as far as I can deduce reference timed climate and remote climate for the new RRS plus auxiliary heater, as has been standard on D3/D4 Discos and the prior RRS here is my supposition:

1/ On the Range Rover Sports configurator plus the online brochure, you can only specify the remote timed climate @ £1000 inclusive vat.
2/ There is no mention anywhere of speccing an auxiliary heater.
3/ The manual , which covers the range, allows for manual climate (and rest heat) so long as the auxiliary heater is installed.
4/ But you cannot spec manual climate plus aux heater online.

So, unless one specs the remote climate, it would suggest that the aux heater might be not installed, or if it is, then not enabled.
Earlier today, the dealer said he could do the remote climate (plipper, receiver etc) for £180.00, but when he realised that the aux heater was maybe not there, changed his mind. According to him, the aux heater can be specced , but how this is possible is not clear.
So, despite what the manual infers you can only pre order remote climate not dealer fit.
I do not think this is correct.

So, if you are buying a new RRS and expecting at temps of less than 4 deg C, an aux heater to kick in, apparently it's not going to occur!

And I have an Autobiography....so if I haven't got aux engine heating, then unless you have lashed out £1k for remote no one else will have it. Theoretically!

On the 2010/ 2013 RRS the FBH was fitted as standard, And worked when engine was started,to assist in warming up engine quicker.It could also be pre timed by on screen timer settings. Dealers said they were unable to set up the Remote system,and was offered as an optional extra from new at £1025. The hardware to do this, Remote pliper,reciever,and Aerial can be purchased for as little as £157. So they were looking for around £868 to impliment some software. Little wonder they have earned the name Stealers itisme

There is a difference between the feature of timed climate and remote park heat and the unit that can be made to deliver those features.

The unit upto 13my enabled engine warm up times to be faster, as to whether the 2014 having the unit which can then have the features added, you'll need someone with one to check Mike
