Smoke from under bonnet

Driving along the other day, pulled up to traffic lights and what I would describe as exhaust type smoke from passenger wheel, smelt similar to burning fuel. Opened bonnet and smoke was coming up next to dipstick, not huge plumes but little puff every few seconds.

Have been monitoring all fluids and oils since this and everything is fine. Was out today and just though to pop bonnet when got home, car was switched off and not running but noticed tiny little puff every few seconds from same area. Had a look round but couldn't see anything. First thought was possible fuel line return leak but car wasn't running, also wasn't sure where return line was.

I know the FBH exhaust is over that side but temp was 16 degrees today so wouldn't have thought it was that. Worth mentioning I have a faulty egr valve too. Due in next week to replace. Also mirrors having mind of their own since this started so wondered if car having a little electrical gremlin stage and FBH is kicking in too when not supposed to be. Seems slightly worse when been on motorway and pull up somewhere, working under pressure at speed?

Any ideas anyone? 2007 TDV6 HSE

You may have a faulty engine temp sensor causing the FBH to kick in.

At least you know it's working! Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Found it!

Injector leaking and dripping onto manifold. Took it out, o-ring had tiny split. Replaced o-ring and seems ok now. Not the easiest thing to get in at with a spanner but done now Cool 2007 TDV6 HSE
