Max fan speed

Normally I have the front + rear aircon/climate on auto, but as it was a very wet day + 2 dripping dogs in the back, decided to put the fans on max...but there's not much extra waft from auto, just a slight flow of air but not much else. You can hit max aircon, which drops the temp to min, but for max heating and max fan speed it seems to be quite feeble. All vents open, but turning both fans to max, the output seems pretty weak!

On our old Disco the max demist / windscreen button was very good for the condition you mention. Yes it auto selected which vents it used but that is for reason. Give it a try mate.

If you leave the temp set to Auto then it will still do what it thinks you need, if you want max heat try to wind the temp up manually as well.

Hi Disco

Thanks for the reply. Though that is what I've been doing, cranking the blowers up to max speed...but only a gentle breeze is forthcoming, probably just enough to blow a match out.
(I had a 59 plate Defender lwb and putting the fan onto max plus front vents meant you could blow dry your hair very swiftly!!)

All vents open front and rear! Going from auto to max fan speed increases the output very slightly. No great whoosh of air!

What if the auto function was calling for max anyway? It would not turn up any more.

Or is it really that bad, 8.5 stone of wet Newfoundland will give a testing when our pup gets wet.

Ahead of you on that one! I thought of that over the weekend. On auto there is a steady trickle of air, which has been the same since October, hit max fan and there's slightly more air but not a lot

I've a digital sound meter which should record the difference in decibel volumes from auto to max. Might give that a go tomorrow!! Laughing
