Had a couple of big storms here in Spain a month ago and the blanket I have across the windscreen and tucked into the doors allowed a lot of water to seep in. Dried off the carpet surfaces and thought all was fine but 2 weeks ago the front windows stopped working, had it in the garage last week and they found a wire in the passenger [lhd] footwell har corroded. The sponge on the back of the mats is full of water. Have tried a de-humidifier in the cabin but no water was collected, now have the doors all open and the carpet lifted slightly off the floor.

You could always cut a 50 mm hole with a hole cutter, this would allow a little air to blow in under the carpets when driving and help dry them out, also act as a drain hole, when dry simply insert a 50 mm blank grommet in the hole and know one would ever know. |
