Are LR going to be able to improve reliability/quality and customer service if they double production and make all these models I wonder Confused

The new RRS looks identical to the FFRR, just a bit smaller !!

I do have my doubts about the new direction of the FF/RRS design.

The Defender looks good tho' Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Evoque XL and RRS seem a little to close to each other IMO.
Does raise the question that have people seen the new RRS out and about with camo or the Evoque XL Confused Whistle ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I read somewhere the new RRS will be FFRR based not disco like current model Thumbs Up

They will share many components but RRS will have lower roofline and more sporty suspension setup so the price will be going up to reflect this Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Eventually they will price themselves out of the market !

At present in many parts of the world the RR & RRS are a car to strive for (as they are here), but as the cars become more common place the lack of attention to quality control & a poor dealer network will see foreign markets starting to slow down.

People whe spend £125k on a car are not the sort of peple who will accept the current slapdash attitude, its okay to move a car up market you just need to ensure you do the same with the dealers and quality control.

In this country you may have a part of society that will pay circa £50k for a car or one that falls into the £1k per month to lease but push it up to £70k & that market is so much smaller.

I for one if the next RRS moves into the £60k plus bracket will look elsewhere & I've had more LR products than most !

As for the other models, I do not think they have yet worked it out that once you start undermining the brand exclusivity/desirability a cheap Range Rover what ever you put on the end of the name is just that.

I personally think with the 6 vehicles they have at present in RR, RRS, RRE, Discovery, Freelander & Defender they have too many siimilar vehicles, perhaps they should spend more time on getting the vehicles right out the factory first time than start introducing more models.

Just my thoughts

That does look like quite a diluted model range, akin to the Audi brand where its hard to tell one model from the next Sad 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

This is partly what finished Rover/MG - if they had concentrated on Rover 75 and MGTF they would probably still be here now Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I had an MGTF and my dad had a 75 and we were both very happy with them and I believe they were the only models that made a profit Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I had an MGF for 2 weeks before I threw it back into the car pool at work a few years back, possible one of the worst cars I've had. Sad
Job losses aside, which was clearly devastating for some families, I don't think they would have survived that much longer as their cars just couldn't compete with their competitors IMO. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

The TF was a big step forward from the F in the same way a D2 was from a D1 - both developed under BMW management so sorry - you used a bad example Embarassed

IMHO the TF and 75 were the first decent cars they built and they should of concentrated on them but it was probably too late especially with the rape of mg/rover by the directors Sad

We appear to have digressed - I see a whole new thread starting Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

This is also my problem. 8 LR products, most new purchases, since 1996 but this one could well be my last as they are pricing themselves out of the market for private buyers. Jaguars are going the same way - Autocar test the new Sportbrake with the 2.2TD, it costs £55000 in the Portfolio trim they tested. How can that be justified? The new F type too starts at £55000 yet it has so many bits taken from the Evoque parts bins as does the new FFRR. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Hence 34% increase in profits this year Whistle

The trend started with D3/FL2 - I went from D2's to FL2's because of jump in prices but then went stupid on the RRS and regretted it for 2 years due to issues Sad

It seems to be going ok now so I will probably keep it for another 2 years to maximise my outlay but normally change year 2/3 and may have to go for Evoque/FL2 next time Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
