I think you disable the auto locking function when you go above 5 mph from the display in the dash, I've had it up once by using the 'i' button on the LHS stalk, keeping it pressed in for a while iirc then using the >> & << buttons on the steering wheel to select or de-select. HTH.

i see how that would work thankyou ,but i thought that if you were at a stand still you would be able to undo any door without having to press the dash button ,you can on the rear doors and drivers door but not passenger door Confused zx12r

You mean before moving or when stopped, after moving?

Not child locks is it?

got exactly the same oddity... when stopped (after moving, engine still running) have to press the button to open the passenger door... doesn't really seem right... there isn't usually child locks on the front passenger door of cars?

I find you just pull the handle twice and it opens fine. I think some call it a deadlock system. Fair enough you can disable it but you might find some unwanted company when sitting at traffic lights (or similar) one day Sad Shocked

Personally I'd stick with the 'double pull' or button press on the dash for piece of mind. Thumbs Up

if you leave it in drive, then the doors remain locked, its a safety feature to stop you being attacked at traffic lights, put the car in park and the doors can be opened without pressing the dash button, thats how it works on mine 2007 plate. 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

thanks for the replies; still sounds a bit strange... would have thought you should still be able to open from the inside... will give the gear thing a try to see if it makes a difference though... when i get the car back... as it broke down on Saturday Sad

On later cars you certainly have;
Drive away locking...where as you drive the car locks
One door unlock, where only the drivers door is unlocked
Normal and dead lock...the later prevents internal opening

Not sure the interaction of those systems for your fault Mike
