MY07 EGR Fix?

Been looking into this all day on here and D3 as mine are stuffed and EML is lit on dash, it looks like there was a software fix that enabled you to blank off the EGR's that was knocking about from BAS but was never released past the testing stage.

Does anyone know of any other way round this?

I dont mind blanking anyway and having EML lit if its just a temp thing until this software is released, but I'm worried about it going into limp home mode, anyone have any experience with this as it seems a mixed opinion on D3?

It'll fail next years mot if the EML is on.
Best to replace them on that year I'm afraid. Pete is working on the 2.7 EuIV mod but no release date yet. Bodsys Brake Bible

After reading all about EGR's i would rather get rid of them, also a mechanic friend on mine said removing is the best option as it will run better and get better mpg if its only running on fresh air, he does my mot so eml isn't a problem if its lit Whistle but don't want it lit forever.

Any idea what sort of cost I should expect to pay to replace them?

IIRC, the valves are around £140 each, plus a few quid for gaskets. Give your mate a few beer tokens to replace them Thumbs Up

If you blank the EGR's, you may get away with only the EML on the dash, but I have seen a blanked EGR cause a whole host of issues, including dropping it down to access height, and bringing up transmission faults etc.
