hi, mpg...depending on the engine your wanting! all cars whatever the make have their horror stories and rrs are no exception. you wont be disappointed. buy as new as you can afford with the usual documentation. service records etc. What model were you thinking of buying? |

Personally, if the budget allows, try and get a MY10 facelifted version.

Hi Andy, welcome to the site. Obvious we are bias on here but we have good reason to be, they are great motors, yes some do have more than their fair share of problems it really is the luck of the draw really, economy wise, i always thought the X5 was slightly better on mpg that the sport but looking at your figures there isn't much in it to be honest, however that all depends on which model of sport you go for. If you are getting a 2009 model i'm guessing you are going for the facelift model, but if your not then i recommend you go for the facelift model if funds allow. |

nice..i cant help you with figures but i'm sure someone will soon. I drive a supercharged so i cant worry about mpg you will love it though. |

The Sport is an unreliable beast. Indeed it often comes near/at the bottom of reliability surveys. Some people are lucky and have no problems whilst others have issue after issue.

Fuel economy isn't brilliant, i average 25-27mpg when I'm not bothering to watch the mpg

Completely agree Cheney . If I drive mine with no regard for economy, I get 25-28....but put a little bit of thought in and drive sympathetically towards the car and I can easily see 35 on a decent run ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
