On my travels looking for an insurance company for the RRS, i didn't find anyone else offering off roading insurance inclusive in the deal. So LR seems to be the best for that, especially if your still doing a lot of it VA. Bummer about the increase in premium though.. |

Just to clear things up - the actual premium is a little up but it was only when I did an appication excluding the non-fault crashes did I find out that my premium would be a good £250 less. Morethan are offering me £520.00 which still beats LR but doesn't include offroad - so is there a third party stand alone offroad insurance available? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

i couldn't find anyone to insure me for a weekend/day just off road cover.. hence why i just took the risk for the sake of a day.. (well half day it turned out to be.in my case..) |

NFU include off road cover, Adrian Flux do too, but I think there is a £30K vehicle limit with them so they won't cover you at present. |

Insurance companies don't all have the same underwriting rules - thus some companies hike up your premiums (or won't cover you at all) if you've had claims (either your fault or not). You'll find you can't make an insurance company cover you if you don't meet the criteria... if you want to find a deal, have you considered using a good old insurance broker? The age of the internet has somewhat killed a large majority of these dead, but there are still some about. My folks still use one and swear by them - it means their insurance company often changes every year, but they get the best deal at the time. Helps they are both 60+ of course
