You're wasting your finger tips mate.
We all know the boy thinks his beloved TDV8 is the best thing since sliced bread, it's all he bangs on about Yawn

As for the op he's probably Censored off to an X5 forum by now Mr. Green

First off the the 2011MY didnt have the TDV8 but even if it did the TDV6 was at least equal to if not better than the TDV8 - again more economical etc the SDv6 is just an improvement to it.

I would support the TDV8 being better (significantly) than a 2.7TDv6 - except maybe running costs where the 2.7 would be cheaper to run possibly - my only 2.7 exposure was in the D3's

Why does there seem to be so much animosity to other users on this site? Is it because RRS are really driven by cocks? I sold my Audi cos they where classed as a cockmobile, now I seem to have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire Big Cry 10 TDV8 Santorini

Similar situation on a Subaru forum only there it was the STI boys v the wrx boys Rolling Eyes

I'm sure most on here if they really wanted a v8 they would have gone out and bought one.
My v6 it totally adequate for my driving, my average speed is 27.5mph Mr. Green

Engine snobbery Mr. Green

Nik.

(Edited average speed)

Nik - it's called a difference of opinion, which is always fun when the opinions are based on facts rather than irrational thoughts/behaviour. When I bought my first RRS (in 2009 - a 57 plate TDV8) I test drove a 2.7 TDV6 (the car you have) and the difference was stark. So much so that I thought there was something wrong with the car and asked the sales guy if there was a fault. When it came time to change, I test drove a 3.0TDV6 (thanks James LPR) with a nice drive down to the O2. Again, felt flat. When the SDV6 came out, a quick drive led me to form the opinion that it's really starting to get close to my beloved TDV8. Begging the question - why not either improve the emissions of the lump (that's apparently why they dropped it) or squeeze in the new 4.4 TDV8 (we're told it's too big to fit in the Sport).

As for certain drivers being certain types of people, that's a little too Clarkson for my liking. For the record the latest X5 is an excellent machine, perhaps a better drive than the RRS in fact (marginally) but significantly less road presence. That again is based on 3 weeks of driving the X5 xDrive35d (se?).

We are actually all very friendly - its just banter, Land and Range rover owners rib each other - but are all an elite club

If you want cocks - BMW and Audi drivers are the place to be

TDV8 is still nothing on the SDv6 or TDv6 Mike

I feel our days of being in an elite club are withering away now that the earlier cars are in the price bracket of chavy wannabe's.

actually. mse and I once agreed on something I just can't remember what it was

Nik - at what point exactly were you in an elite club? the day you bought your 2.7 TDV6 RRS 4 years ago? surely the TDV8 brutes were turning their noses up back then too (I only arrived in Jan 2009)?

Sh Censored I must be an ex cock then, after leaving my chav years in Vauxhalls I had a BMW 330ci,Audi RS6 and then an X5 (V8 4.4). I've learnt now though and try and stay away from the cockmobiles Thumbs Up 10 TDV8 Santorini
