I know this is probably the most over discussed topic. I have been looking into a remap for my 2007 3.6 tdv8 and was quoted £695 + vat by DMS who many regard to be one of the best in the market. Power gains are

Standard With remap

270 bhp 339 bhp gain of 69 bhp
472 lbft 598 lbft gain of 126 lbft

DMS gains seem to be substantially more that some other companies. Has anyone on here had a remap done by DMS and are these degree of gains considered to be too much for reliability?

Thanks
Dave

There's no denying DMS have a good reputation. I had a DMS mapped 535d for a few months, what a weapon Shocked
For me, I'd be going to one of the sponsors. I think the type of map is more important than the actual gains for an RRS Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
MERCEDES GL350 - Metallic Navy Blue w/Grey interior

GOING: BMW F31 335D MSport+ xDrive Touring
GONE: Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE - Stornaway Grey w/Black Interior (wish we'd kept it Banging Head )
GONE: BMW F10 520D MSport - Carbon Black
GONE:MY12 RRS SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ivory/Grand Black Privacy glass

One issue that would be important for me if considering a remap is whether it is easily reversed/substituted. If you need to take the vehicle in for warranty work and the garage figures out that it's got a remap then you may not get warranty coverage. Remaps that come with a plug in box to allow the factory settings to be reinstalled for the day would seem to be a good thing in this case. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
