United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Roof Mounted DVD

I was thinking of fitting a roof mounted DVD player and screen in my RRS TDV6 HSE but have noticed that there is a housing already on the roof containing what look like movement sensors for the alarm system. I've heard that Land Rover dealers fit aftermarket roof mounted DVD's. Does anyone know how they fit these when the factory sensor housing seems to be in the way ?

Thanks

Fro what I have seen of the roof mounted DVD system, it incorporates the motion sensors. I don't think anyone on here has one though. L319 D4 HSE

I'd opt for a top notch aftermarket installation with screens in headrests. They are also IR headphone compatible.

Incorporated screens are much nicer to look at than the roof mountd screen. The central screen causes rear passengewrs to lean in to the car to try and get a central view. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I guess the main dealers have access to a roof special unit that incorporates the sensors. Looks like I need to go to plan B with the screens in the headrests and the player under the back seat.

Thanks everyone

Prestige Audio (a site sponsor) do some very neat headrest installations, so I'm told Wink

Yeah Martin, I've had a look at their site and it looks like a top notch installation. If I get ours done, it will be through these guys (Via RRSport.co.uk of course...) Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

adrman,

LR offer their roof mounted DVD for cars with sunroof.......

fitting instruction here http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/extfree2viewlrprod/index.jsp

Also - Prestige Audio have some great installations. I contacted them for ideas and they a very nice slim Alpine unit ( pics in my gallery )

http://www.prestigeaudio.co.uk/auto/images-auto-2-39-86-266.html

They also move the roof sensors accordingly to acommodate the screen.

Another option is to have 2 ..... yes 2..... Alpine roof mounted screens = The ultimate install then Rolling Eyes
