Switching Off Rear Parking Sensor

on my MY06 i could hit a button on the dash to switch off the Reverse Parking sensors, which i always used when i was towing or had a bike rack attached. There is no obvious switch to do this on the MY10 model... is there any short cuts or is it a safety feature that can no longer be disabled Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

With a correctly wired light board (or trailer) plugged in, the rear sensors will dissable automatically (as your 06 should have done) RRS gone

When towing our horse trailer, I noted that the centre sensors are disabled but the outer ones still function. Which is useful as a warning if you get a lot of bend in the rig. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

ah there lies the problem, in OZ the Bike Rack does not have a wired light board, just a number plate.. so nothing plugged in.. hence why the old MY06 RPS warning was so simple to disable by the dash button.. not so on the MY10 Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I've got an MY12 which (bar some software and a few tweaks here and there) I thought had the same interior as MY10. On my dashboard, there is a button to enable/disable the parking sensors Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Do you have the tow electrics installed?

Maybe you could just plug in a dummy plug or a bulb to tell the car you are towing something. '08 RRS TDV8

This was covered on AULRO recently and the general consensus was - no (despite the LR Aust site showing a switch on the dash of the cars on their site - apparently does not exist in real life).

i can only assume that the ANZ models are Friday afternoon builds, after "Barry from Bromsgrove" had been down the pig and ferret and downed about 16 pints of banks best bitter (extra warm) Laughing and forgot where the RPS button bin is on the assembly line.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
