Land Rover Insurance changes

Guys something you need to know about LRI if you are insured with them. From July 1 this year LRI is no longer run by Royal and Sun Alliance but by a company called Brit Insure. I asked them for some info and all the documents were emailed to me on Stratstone Cheltenham letterhead document sheets! Also they will not cover any car over £50k without a trakker fitted and no driver over 75 can now be covered. Other changes are the continental use is reduced from unlimited to 60 days a year everything else remains the same. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I met the guy who runs Brit insurance just after they announced their sponsorship of the England Cricket team - nice chap, very ambitious! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I spoke to LRI when I changed my car in Jan this year and LR Insurance was already with a different company than Royal Sun Alliance and their quote was way more expensive!!! (I'm sure I posted something on the forum to this effect at the time) I therefore contacted RSA and they told me that as I was an existing client they could still offer me the Land Rover Insurance Package and that it was only new clients that HAD to go with the new provider. If I didn't move my cover then I would continue to be insured under Land Rover Insurance with all the benefits that came with that policy. To date I have not had anything to tell me otherwise so I suspect that what you are reffering to ONLY applies to policies taken out now. All my policy docs are on LR Insurance paper.

If any "Friendly" LR Dealers (casts pleading glance in James's direction) would like to confirm or rebuke this I'm sure all us existing LRI clients would be most grateful Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I took my policy out in October last year and it was Brit insure then. They covered my car fine without a tracker even when I switched to the TDV8. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Will have to press a different button on the RSA switchboard tomorrow then and see what they can do as I have two policies with them as they also insure my Defender. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Just off the phone to the Royal and Sun Alliance LRI and they are still kicking but only covering existing clients of LRI, no new business. I was re-insured for my Defender with them and they were able to quote me for the
car I was interested in and unlike Brit Insure they still don't require a trakker and they will still cover my 82 year old father as a named driver. Basically for me there is no change if I stay with them - just as well because Brit insure quoted £690 for less cover with more excess than Royal/Old Land Rover Insurance (<£400 on the same vehicle) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

if you have your current RRS with LR/RSA and renew the policy, can they still not do a change of vehicle on the policy, keeping your dad on etc etc when you swap the car?

Nick I renewed my RRS policy in March with RSA/LRI for the new car they want an additional premium to the end of the year of £36. It's still a no brainer to change the car on the RRS policy rather than start afresh with a new company who want >£200 to start on a Stratstone Policy. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Exactly the point I was making! Thumbs Up

This now raises the question as to WHY Land Rover Insurance have switched to a company that offers their customers a more expensive policy offering less cover Whistle Me thinks perhaps LR get a better Kick Back than they did from RSA...... Yet another way of ripping off the client Evil or Very Mad Or am I just too cynical Whistle Whistle 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I got my LRI/Brig renewal through on Friday

Price up by £40 and they had a fault claim listed in 2009 and no record of a SP30 Shocked

One very stern phone call later and the claim was removed and the SP30 added, and the matched last years price
