Planning purchase of MY12 HSE

I am planning the purchase of a Fuji white SDV6 HSE and would like some advice as this is my first RR.

First off, I am planning the following options. Please let me know if I have missed something important:

Dual View
Black headlining
Ebony with ivory contrast stitching
Harmon Kardon logic 7
Vision assist pack
Quick release tow bar
Carpet mats
Privacy glass
Colour coding of skirt and front and rear bumper
Limited edition diamond turned/ black alloys from the limited edition disco 4 http://www.perrys.co.uk/car-news/articles/...d-2345.php

I am also considering and would love to hear some opinions on:

Extended leather
Side steps

I have seen 10% discounts on new Sports on broadspeed. I have read the thread on new car discount where it seemed that most would expect only 5%. Naturally I will be aiming for 10% at least, but what are other peoples experiences?

There is a fairly competitive finance rate at 5.9% APR... Anyone had any luck negotiating this down further?

And finally, I live in Gloucestershire.... Anyone have any opinions on the best dealer in or around this region?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Rubbing strip kit.

It's a four piece trim kit that gets fitted on the doors at about the exact height ignorant tossers hit your car with their doors in car parks!.

Looks good on a black car but not sure about on a white one.

I forgot to add that I am informed by someone in the know that the new RR sport will be out in 2013 and the body is not yet finalised. So I guess the question is, is now the right time to buy an MY12? Will the 2013 hammer the residual value of an MY 12?

I am unfamiliar with the market dynamics for RR...

It's 3k for the exterior styling pack, and I can get the wheels plus coding for the same. I am not a fan of the exterior design pack grill.

The autobiography is 11k more than the HSE... And I am not exactly sure if I see the value in that?

Sunroof Question Question
Side steps yes Thumbs Up
Extended leather for me no
See if you can view two sports side by side one with and one without extended leather then decide.

Mines on order for March and my dealer suggested high beam assist was a waste of money. He said that "dual View" was a must have, just because of the resale value. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

The new FFRR is out for MY13 (which is 2012) and there are rumours of a Grand Evoque for 2015 which apparently will move the RRS upmarket. However, I would suggest that this implies no really new RRS until at least 2015, just facelifts and an hybrid model? 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

I have never been into having a sunroof... And very fair point on the high beam assist!

My source works for land rover and he assures me that there will be a new sport next year...

If you're not fussed about having the my13 (if that's when it changes) then I'd get a my12 then when there's a deal to be had, while everyone clammers for the new one Wink Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

imo..... if you really think there is a new model coming in 2013...... I'd wait !!!

I'd say it was very unlikely.... manufacturers routinely leak or release details way in advance... so as to measure public opinion and generate interest and publicity....and this happens at least a year or two in advance...
The outgoing model invariably takes a hit in value a couple months before the new release ... and then again a couple months after the release once the new shape hits the street.....

So you've got some serious thinking and speculating to do before you think about spec.....
As Mr H says..... if it really is all change in 2013 i'd wait a couple months for the announcement and get a great deal on the old model which will be much harder to shift....
I don't mean to be rude .... but if your mate in LR was in the know..... he'd know a little more than just "a new model is coming out" or maybe you just can't say on the forum !!!
I for one will be selling and re ordering Thumbs Up 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

I have High Beam Assist and to be honest i sometimes take the lights out of auto mode as they are so
frigging annoying and blinds drivers coming over crest or around corners.. takes to long to dip the beam
even in OZ on long runs

Lazy i know, you can switch it off in the setup Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
