The thing is, if mother is on benefits and daddy is paying xyz to the csa the full amount payed by the father is kept by the csa and none of it is passed onto mother for the childs welfare because mother is already claiming maximum benefits, so the child is no better off unless daddy gives the child handouts directly, the maintenance payed to the csa just goes to help reduse the cost of running the country so where possible always try and avoid going down the csa route easier said than done with some ex partners i know.
