The MY12 sport is different to the 10/11MY disco or sport...but the timed climate system is similar.

Simple answer - no you cant just buy a remote and it work im afraid Exclamation

You will need both the kit to add the remote capability and it enabled to make timed climate work. Mike

Norway 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

Anyone tried to remove the fuse 28 from the engine bay to get the FBH to restart?

Mine has stopped working so I would love to kick start it again....
A member on disco3 ment it would work but anyone done this on a pre RRS?

Purhaps removing the the two pin connector from the FHB may work? RRS 2006 2.7 HSE

My local dealer hadnt heard of the remote FBH option, but after investigating they said that they could get the parts available to fit, but that LR wouldnt let them, as its a factory-fit option. They said to fit it would invalidate the warranty. I can understand not wanting to retro fit, but invalidating a warranty with a factory feature sounds absurd.

They are, however, bringing the car in to investigate activation of the non-remote Timed Climate feature. Hopefully they'll do that part at least.

Thats rubbish - dont believe it...ask for clarification, in writing, how it would invalidate the warranty - you are not modifying the vehicle or fitting none standard parts Mike

I know its rubbish, but LR headoffice told them not to do the work, so they wont.

Just got the car back from the garage and the story has changed. They now say that Timed Climate needs change to CCF file, but they cant do that, it needs modifying at Head Office (!!). So they wont be able to active it. BUT they did say that they'd fit the Remote Climate for £720 (this would remotely activate the FBH, but there wouldnt be any on-screen information/capabilities).

Weird. I take it that they're just not used to the whole CCF file modification thing.

See this posted in the other FBH thread.

The RRP of the parts needed are £278.25 to £295.71 depending on your chassis number.

This is for MY10 onwards

It takes about an hour or so to install and then of course the activation in the cars CCF.

Just remember that there is a significant investment in the kit to do these enablements, so i'm not suprised at some of these prices coming up.

If you ordered this from the factory, then it would be £1120 option.....

Thumbs Up

LR/SDD tool is not able to change the CCF file for certain things.

they can for TowBar fitment and certain other things, but not factory fit items.
When you think aboiut it, the dealer couild easily fit the items for the prices above, switch it on and LR then lose out of profit, but the dealers profit increases, so I can fully understand why LR say they cant do it.

I'm wondering if theres enough interest in this to make it worthwhile me getting the 2010 onwards licence.....? Bodsys Brake Bible
