Was it a run of the mill RRS, or a Bowler?

Spring conversions are quite common in the Middle East. It started with the Range Rover Classics, Then the P38s. Almost all Classics and numerous P38s here have been converted as I found out when trying to buy one... The Sports are less common however I have seen them here.

It was an older V6 diesel! Sat very low on its springs! I assume they'd had trouble with the airbag system; however, they may have just wanted the lower stance look!

Very common upgrade/downgrade on Disco 2 and to be honest, drive a couple of these without issue. Wouldn't be my choice of upgrade and at £2300 plus fitting and set up, expensive alternative to leaky bag or faulty pump. My Fullfat runs 22's and lowered air suspension in attempt to make it handle less like jelly but just leaves it hard and "flat eric'd". If you could run a sport in access mode it would look spot on |

The original air suspension system suffered from having exposed airbags I believe. This meant they got damaged off road. Also they were fitted to solid axles. This limited articulation. Coil overs can be set up to dislocate the spring giving massive articulation. This is popular on tricked D1 and D2 as well as Defenders.

I've fitted a couple of kits to both D2's and P38's and in both cases the ride was good, but ! Have heard of people having insurance issues with P38's. D2's on most models come with coils as standard from the factory so to change from air to coil is no problem as it's just a conversion. P38's never had coils fitted so changing to coils is a mod.
