I would just like to pay Tribute to Dan Wheldon who has just passed away today after his terrible crash in Las Vegas. I would like to send my deepest thoughts to his family and friends he was a true racer.

My heart felt thoughts and prayers go to his lovely wife Susie, Seb and little Oliver. He was a true legend.

I hope that the Dallara name the next chassis the DW001

i don't really follow motorsports, but anyone that dies in pursuit of his or her chosen career is sad news

I saw the tweets and a couple of facebook post last night, but i have only just seen the actual crash on the BBC News website, which to say the least looks horrrific

Sad news for his followers and thoughts are with his wife and young family

Such a tragic loss. My heart breaks every time I see that picture of him with his wife & two wee boys. Sadly Dan's death was the result of a flawed attempt at a marketing stunt on the part of Indy Car. There were far to many cars on what is a very small oval track. Many of the drivers had already protested about it prior to the race.
