United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Sumatra Black
Gear knob stuck

The button on my gear knob is stuck in (as if you are constantly pressing it) and this means you can move it through P/R/N/D without touching it. Obviously the button is there to stop you accidentally going straight from D to R and damaging it.

I assumed the button had broken but wanted to take the knob off and check before ordering a new one. It now has become clear that someone has taken it off before and not put it back on properly! I have followed the instructions of put it in N and pull it up. It seems to release, and at this point the button comes out, however it then stops. I have given it a very strong pull but it won't come up any further. Any ideas?!

Without seeing what it looks like when it's off it's hard to know what is stopping it. LR Defender 90 - gone

Cheers, I can't see anything on the gear stick that would hold the knob back, its almost like whatever the button connects to is trapping it somewhere inside the stick. LR Defender 90 - gone
