Well May and September are the months to come here, from end of May until mid September the dreaded midges are out and the roads are packed with tour coaches and grockles towing caravans at snails pace. The weather today was superb 22-23C warm east breeze and clear blue sky and the same is forecast for tomorrow (so that will be summer for this year!)
Maybe we need a "great day trip drives" forum to post those great drives that are possible in this country and Ireland. I know at least 6 good day drives on clear fast roads where there is usually no police presence or speed cameras.
The run I did today,
Then a run from Stirling to Crief, Hosh,Monzie,Amulree then over Glen Quaich to Kenmore (great place to have a picnic lunch on the shores of Loch Tay with Red squirrels coming to join you at the table and pinch your sarnies/ crisps!),Fearnan, Fortingal,Coshieville,Tummel Bridge,Trinafour to Struan all on General Wade's Military roads built in the 1720-40's then back via the A9 at Bruar, Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Perth and Stirling, with a stop for afternoon tea at Gleneagles Hotel on the way back. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
