United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey
First 2 months of ownership and some help please.

So, the first 2 months of ownership after many years of audis has been a pleasant one. Nice to sit up high, good power delivery when you need it thanks to the V8 (50 to 80), Everything works well from air con to folding mirrors.

I've only got a couple of niggles. The SAT NAV. Went to norfolk ove the weekend. I had been before but as it was my first long trip in the rrs i through i would follow the SAT NAV. What a mistake. Still got there in roughly the same amount of time but the way it took me, village country roads, tracks. Is there a button i did not press?. It great that you can put the whole postcode in unlike audis when you can only put the first bit and then you need to know the street name and town.

Also i got 22inch wheels, great to look at but hard to get it tracked as not many garages (which includes LR dealers) can track 22 inch rims. My steering it slight off which is really starting to Pee me off. Does anyone know of a good company that can wheel alingment 22 inch rims around the leicestershire, rutland, linc, northamptonshire and nottinghamshire area.

And last. Thinking about getting the beast re maped. Found a company in peterborough how says for £350 plus vat i can get 321BHP and another 180 torques. Has anyone chipped there TDV8 and whats the difference in fuel mpg and power delivery?. RRS TDV8, 22 rims, Privacy Glass, Premuim ICE plus Leather, Sun Roof, Stornoway Grey.

Audi S4 Avant gone for good, thank god.

The Sat Nav is just pants, end off!
I use a Tom Tom to actually navigate and the built in on show entire route so you can see progress.
The problem with the LR Sat Nav it seems to draw a straight line between 2 points and takes you off main roads through country lanes for 10 miles and then back onto the main road again it us useless.
Also seems to work out ETA on current speed so you start off thinking it will take 4 hours but Tom Tom says 2 hours as it uses speed limits on roads planned. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Ref mapping:

Power delivery..much stronger mid range punch... (sport mode is now hardly ever used, even for the quick overtakes). Towing my caravan it never changed down from top, even with the A30's gradients...

MPG I've noticed no difference, with 23-24 being the norm

Thumbs Up

The Sat Nav usually gives two or three route options (Shortest,Quickests) being two of them. These will come up on screen showing the time of arrival at the destination along with the milage for each one after you have input the postcode. Just select which option you prefer and it will calculate that route. I also have a tom tom XXL and altough I prefer the graphics on that,I now only use the RRS sat nav which takes a little getting used to, but saves the hassel of taking the TTom in and out of the car. Cheers for replies. Going to get the beast re mapped as while the fuel mpg might stay the same more power is always nice. Thanks for the info everyone Thumbs Up RRS TDV8, 22 rims, Privacy Glass, Premuim ICE plus Leather, Sun Roof, Stornoway Grey.

Hi, I have the BAS remap too, great power delivery as AWD man said, though I have noticed on the dash better economy, when calculated is the same or bit worse. RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,
